BBC Radio Cornwall Present Aid Auction on Lemon Quay!
15 January 2010

The BBC Present Aid Auction held on Lemon Quay on Friday 15th January was an amazing success

Hundreds of people queued up prior to the grand opening at 12 noon.

Organised by Daphne Skinnard, and with a live show presented by Lawrence Reed during the event, people flocked to come and barter for bargain gifts, toys, household items and clothing, all unwanted Christmas presents sold to raise money for this charity.

Volunteers and BBC Radio Cornwall staff worked really hard to set up the stalls inside the marquee, genrously donated by Aussie Marquees.

Then as the sales commenced, it was all hands on deck to keep up with the crowds who were searching for the ultimate bargain.

Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who helped on the day, especially the volunteers and staff from BBC Radio Cornwall, and the team from Aussie Marquees. We would also like to thank Rowes the bakers, who supplied warm drinks and pasties to the volunteers, and to Marks and Spencer coffee shop who also supplied coffee to keep everyone going.

Most of all we would like to thank everyone who donated their unwanted gifts, and those who came to join in the event and helped BBC Radio Cornwall to raise over £3,000.
