Welcome to the official website for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust.
To keep your air ambulance flying in 2012, the charity will need your help to raise around £1.7 million.
Use this website to find out more information about us
2012 is particularly exciting because it is our 25th year of flying, made more pertinent because we were the first county in the UK to fund an air ambulance. The slogan on the helicopter says it all – ‘Funded by the people of Cornwall’. To celebrate this achievement (of which we should all be very proud!) we are organising several events throughout the year and we hope that you will join us at one of them
We know that everyone is feeling the pinch however we need to raise £1.7 million pounds a year just to keep the helicopter flying and with no sign of funding from central government we rely entirely on fundraising and would be grounded without it!
Our helicopter is one of the busiest due to our population being widely scattered (and a long way from a hospital), clogged up roads during the summer, our love of ‘extreme sports’ and our beaches, moorlands and cliff tops being inaccessible by road.
In 2012, we are also asking everyone in Cornwall to get involved and organise their own fundraising event. We can provide you with everything you need from tips and advice to sponsor forms, posters, collection buckets and t-shirts as well as our charity logo for you to use for any promotion you might have planned. Please do let us know if you plan anything and whether you would like a Cornwall Air ambulance representative to attend the event.
The new Operations Facility for Cornwall Air Ambulance is now completed
This project was part financed by the European Union with £949,760 from the European Regional Development Fund 2007-2013 through the Department for Communities and Local Government under the Convergence Operating Programme.
