Planes, Trains and Automobiles

A great family day out with something for everyone - from kids to big kids!

Find out about Cornwall’s emergency services—meet paramedic emergency bikers, chat to Devon and Cornwall Police and watch Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service’s RTC    response demonstration. There’s also a unique chance to see Newquay Airport’s state-of-the-art ‘Panther’ fire response vehicle.

There’s displays of classic vintage vehicles and a World War II exhibit from GateGuards and the Military Vehicle Trust. Record-holding Strongman Dave ‘The Shed’ Glover will be attempting to pull a mystery vehicle and if that sounds too energetic, how about trying your hand at driving an HGV with Driveline?

Keep an eye out for the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust helicopter, which will make an appearance during the day (missions dependent). Take a look and meet the paramedics and pilot!

If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a pilot yourself, how about trying out a Flight Simulator inside the main hanger, or even taking a  trial flight with Fly Cornwall? You can also find out about the Classic Air Force—one of the world’s largest vintage aircraft     collections, coming soon to Newquay!

That should keep the kids (and big kids!) amused all day long, but there’s also a bouncy castle, bouncy slide and zorbing just for the little ones!

In the main hanger, there’s a great craft and vintage fayre to kick-start your Christmas shopping, and if all that retail therapy takes its toll, there’s plenty of refreshments on hand.
